Beliefs
Our doctrine is Jesus Christ. He is the blueprint of love.
Mission
Our mission is to learn, grow and be transformed into the nature of love on earth as it is in heaven.
History
Jordan Crossing 318 has its origins in a home fellowship group, originally led by Jack and Pat McClendon in Shreveport, Louisiana. Jack passed away in 2008. Following Jack’s death, Jack and Stacey Ditt hosted the home group meetings.
In the years to follow, Jack and Pat’s son, Brad McClendon, would assume the spiritual leadership role for the group. Under Brad’s leadership, the group grew as a family and developed its own identity. Meetings were held two evenings per month in homes. Everyone was encouraged and stretched to grow and participate in an environment of freedom and safety.
In 2018 the group decided to take the transformative step to become more like a church, but not in the traditional sense. A name was chosen, and the church was legally organized in the State of Louisiana. Meetings were moved to Sunday mornings. Soon thereafter, the group moved out of the homes and into a commercial building, and now Jordan Crossing 318 is a federally tax-exempt organization under IRC Section 501(c)(3).
During this time the Lord was preparing Brad and his wife, Susan, for their next assignment: to relocate to Shreveport and lead the Jordan Crossing 318 family!
Our Name
The name, “Jordan Crossing,” was an answer to prayer. We added “318,” our local area code, after we learned that the name, Jordan Crossing, was already in use by another Louisiana-based organization. (Coincidentally, we filed our organizational documents with the Secretary of State in March of 2018, 3…18.)
Thereafter, we received a number of Scriptures (NKJ) to confirm our identity and name:
- 1 John 3:18 “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.”
- Deuteronomy 31:8 “And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
- 2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
- In Genesis 14, Abraham’s army of 318, trained servants of his house successfully warred and defeated those who had captured his nephew Lot. They then brought back Lot’s family and all the spoils of the enemy.
- John 3:18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
- Joshua 3 ends with verse 17 where Israel walks across the Jordan River on dry ground to enter the Promised Land. Jordan Crossing 318 is a part of the next Joshua generation, the unwritten verse 18, that facilitates the great harvest at the end of the Age to come, to hasten the Lord’s return for a bride that is without spot or wrinkle.
